The Neighbors Link “Women and the Global Immigrant Experience” luncheon will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills, NY.  Maria Otero, former Undersecretary of State for President Obama’s administration, and former President and CEO of Accion International (the largest microfinance institution in the world today) will speak about empowering women in her talk titled “Women and the Global Immigrant Experience.” Proceeds from the event will benefit Neighbors Link Northern Westchester, a not-for-profit community center in Mt. Kisco, NY that provides education and employment opportunities for immigrant families in Northern Westchester.  The Neighbors Link 2013 “Women and the Global Immigrant Experience” Luncheon is organized by the Friends of Neighbors Link.  At our luncheon, Ms. Otero will share her experience successfully empowering women around the world and provide us with her insights on how we can do the same in our own communities. Ms. Otero has influenced millions of lives in the United States and internationally. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to learn from an inspirational leader who has helped to alleviate global poverty through microfinance, sustainable development and other initiatives.
