The Icelandic Genome, Dr. Kari Stefansson.  Tuesday, September 23, 7:00 pm.  Using Iceland’s uniquely comprehensive genealogical records, deCODE Genetics created a genealogy database covering the entire Icelandic population reaching back to the founding of the country more than 1,000 years ago.  Kári Stefánsson, M.D., founded deCODE in August 1996. Dr. Stefansson shaped deCODE’s scientific approach and serves as senior author for most of the company’s publications.
