Aldrich Museum Summer Workshops for Children. Information and Registration: 203.438.4519 or online. Every summer, The Aldrich Museum offers six exciting weeks of workshops with contemporary artists and educators, for children ages three to twelve.  Participants will learn how artists come up with ideas for their artwork, experiment with all sorts of materials, and enjoy time with friends while creating works only they could imagine! Amadeus Summer Theater & Art Camp

The Amadeus Theater & Art Day Camp gives children ages 6-16 the opportunity to perform musical theater, study band or orchestra instruments, piano, guitar and voice, create studio art, learn photography and film making, play in a jazz percussion ensemble, compose their own songs in our recording studio, participate in an art show, create sets and go on a swimming field trip. Camp will culminate in a fully staged theater performance of The Sound of Music.
Six Weeks:  June 28th through August 6th 2010, Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm.  Three week sessions available.  Camp is held at our Chappaqua location: 201 King Street, Chappaqua, NY 10514.

Apple Blossom School Summer Camp: Apple Blossom School and Family Center Summer Camp. Ages 2 1/2 to 7, during the months of July and August. Each program will offer a rich experience in the arts including crafts, singing, gardening and cooking. Each camp will feature a flowing, gentle rhythm, responsive to the openess of summer. Children will have time to explore the natural world with nature walks and projects and plenty of outdoor play time. All Apple Blossom Summer Camp classes will be led by teachers in Waldorf Teacher Training. Programs are supported by the Lead Faculty of Apple Blossom School and will offer the children a true to form Waldorf experience nourishing their physical developent and striving for truth beauty and goodness in the classroom environment. Bedford Academy of Music Summer Program

This summer the Bedford Academy of Music will offer workshops dedicated to theater and music. The Musical Theater Workshop for children in K -8 is a performance-oriented program. Children will work on mastering vocal/acting technique, choreography, dialogue, creating sets for the show. The workshop will conclude with a staged production of “Free to Be You and Me”. The Chamber Music Workshop is for intermediate/advanced instrumentalists who are looking to collaborate with other musicians. Daily coaching sessions, rehearsals, and theory classes will culminate in a gala recital.  $300/two-week session, Monday - Friday, 9am-3pm. Musical Theater: July 5-16. Chamber Music: July 19-30.

Camp Applause of Applause Westchester

Applause Westchester is bringing you CAMP APPLAUSE -- week-long theater intensives to children in Westchester this Spring Break Week - and in the Summer!  Each week your child will cycle through classes such as acting, singing, scene study, audition technique, Broadway dance, hip-hop, acting for TV, and costume design that culminate in an open house performance!  There is an entirely new curriculum every week in the Summer, so you can join us for one week or all nine. Greenwich Historical Society History & Art Camp, for children in second through seventh grades, features a highly interactive two-week camp closely focused on history and art themes that characterize Greenwich Historical Society’s Bush-Holley Historic Site.  The first week, activities evolve around Colonial and Early American history. Second week focuses on art and the Cos Cob art colony.  A field trip and a Friday Parents Day every week. Professional artists, educators and re-enactors provide additional instruction. Purchase College Youth Programs in the Arts
provide a unique opportunity to spend the summer exploring the visual and performing arts under the guidance of experienced instructors and practicing artists. Grouped by age, the Youth Programs are designed to enable the exploration of a variety of artistic genres. For example, a student interested in the performing arts may choose to take the Songwriting Workshop in session I, Youth Musical Theatre in session II, and Young Filmmakers in session III. Summer Boot Camps are for students ages 7 – 17 who want an immersive rock performance or recording experience. Students spend 1 or 2 weeks working in a hands-on atmosphere learning real performance or recording techniques and the complexities of being in a rock band.  While Performance Camp is dedicated to teaching students how to play and perform cover songs, the Songwriting/Recording Camp teaches the art of songwriting and recording techniques. Usdan Center For the Creative and Performing Arts, in the Huntington area of Long Island, is America`s largest summer arts day camp, annually hosting 1600 children ages 6-18 from throughout the Tri-State area. Air-conditioned buses transport students-- in Westchester, from New Rochelle, Scarsdale and Rye. Students from nearby Connecticut come to Westchester for pickup.
