The Rye Arts Center will be filled with the pulsating sounds of jazz, wildly colorful abstract art and brand new classes beginning this September at its 51 Milton Road location in Rye. Classes begin September 12th & Oct. 1st featuring an array of new classes for children, teens and adults in the fine, music, and performing arts. Robotics, fashion design, and recycled art are just a few of the exciting new children’s classes this fall. For those experienced or just beginning adults and teens, there are some great new opportunities as well. Discover watercolor, acrylic, oil, or pastel paints, this fall. Dance for Parkinson’s Disease will continue to stimulate the mind, body, and spirit starting September 12th thanks to a grant from ArtsWestchester. Be sure to mark your calendar for the Sept. 28th performance of “September Sound Explosion” by the John Fumasoli/Bill Harris sextet, featuring Roger Ball, co-founder of Average White Band. And in the Gallery, curator Katharine Dufault has assembled an exciting collection of today’s most talented abstract artists in a show entitled: From Where I Stand, opening November 18.
