Nanny Alliance
The Nanny Alliance of NY and NJ is coming up on its second year in October 2007. The group was created with the mission of educating and supporting area nannies in NY, NJ and CT through a multitude of resources: our Yahoo Group, e-mail newsletter, job opportunities, social and educational events and most importantly, foundations for friendships. Nanny Alliance of NY and NJ takes great pride in creating a stronger nanny community in the Metro NY/NJ/CT area, as well as remaining an independent group that is fully supported, financially, by nannies through their membership dues.

Support for Families Affected by SIDS
For parents, grandparents and family members who have lost a child to SIDS, Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) provides an ongoing monthly support group, which meets at the agency’s location in Hartsdale. Participants share bereavement experiences and help one another progress toward emotional healing. The WJCS SIDS Education & Support Program also educates the public about risk prevention and infant safety, and distributes bi-lingual risk-prevention materials. Supported by a grant from the CJ Foundation for SIDS, this outreach targets pregnant women and new mothers to dispel myths and educate them about sleep positions and sleep safety for their babies. For information about the WJCS SIDS Support Group or to schedule a risk-prevention presentation, contact Program Director Lenore Rosenbaum at 761-0600, X308 or lrosenbaum@wjcs.com.
