Meet Horace: The Original Game

Meet Horace: The Original Game, redux.  On September 20th at 1:00pm the New Castle Historical Society is celebrating the re-launch of the first-ever History Hunt Game – Meet Horace:  The Original Game, redux at the Horace Greeley House, 100 King Street in Chappaqua.  We are happy (and proud!) to redesign this fantastic puzzle hunt so that players can participate on an on-going basis. Players are led though the life and times of Horace Greeley, starting at the Historical Society (Greeley’s very own summer home at 100 King Street in Chappaqua) and quickly jumping out “to the field.”  Be prepared to walk in and around town, follow maps, solve puzzles, and search for caches to solve the nine sequential stages of the game.  The game can be completed in an afternoon (but doesn’t have to be) and is not car-dependent.  “Meet Horace” is perfect for multi-generational families and fun for kids age 13 and up to play by themselves (or in teams!).  We think you’ll have a great time playing!  To play view  The Horace Greeley History Hunt:  Here’s Horace is part of the 15th Annual Hudson River Valley Ramble. The Society is one more that 150 of New York State historic sites, trail and historic preservation organizations, as well as the National Park Service who are offering events, many are free of charge and family friendly.  For a complete listing of events, visit
