The Hammond Museum, in conjunction with Families with Children from China, presents: Hao Bang Ya, Dragon!  Written and Directed by Kuang-Yu Fong and Stephen Kaplin featuring: “Monkey versus the Dragon King” — a favorite episode from the epic “Journey to the West” in which the mischievous superhero, Monkey tricks the Dragon of the Eastern Ocean into surrendering a magic weapon of awesome power.  “Dragon and Lion Dance” — a traditional New Year spectacle in miniature.  “Dragonspeak” — idioms, aphorisms and figures of speech featuring dragons are brought to life with much audience participation.  There will be face painting related to Chinese Opera characters and children will decorate lanterns and taste Chinese snacks. Saturday, September 29th, 2012 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.  Museum members $20 for family up to 4, $5 each additional person.  Non-members: $25 for family up to 4, $5 each additional person.
