Every summer, The Aldrich Museum offers six exciting weeks of workshops with contemporary artists and educators, for children ages three to twelve.  Participants will learn how artists come up with ideas for their artwork, experiment with all sorts of materials, and enjoy time with friends while creating works only they could imagine! Amadues Frozen FlyerThe Amadeus Theater & Art Day Camp gives children ages 5-16 the opportunity to perform in a musical adaptation of FROZEN – Really Frozen!!!, play group outdoor sports and games, study band or orchestra instruments, piano, guitar and voice, paint and create sets, learn choreography,  play in a jazz percussion, rock or chamber ensemble, compose their own songs, create studio art, learn photography and film-making, participate in an art show, and go on a swimming field trip.  Camp culminates in a fully staged theater performance in a professional theater.  Six weeks, one to five week sessions available.  Camp is held in Chappaqua: 201 King Street, Chappaqua, NY.  June 29 – August 7, M-F, 9:00 – 4:00.  Preschool music program, Sounds of Music, also available.   Visit www.amadeusconservatory.com or call 914-238-0388.

Apple Blossom School and Family Center Summer Camp. Ages 2 1/2 to 7, during the months of July and August. Each program will offer a rich experience in the arts including crafts, singing, gardening and cooking. Each camp will feature a flowing, gentle rhythm, responsive to the openess of summer. Children will have time to explore the natural world with nature walks and projects and plenty of outdoor play time. All Apple Blossom Summer Camp classes will be led by teachers in Waldorf Teacher Training. Programs are supported by the Lead Faculty of Apple Blossom School and will offer the children a true to form Waldorf experience nourishing their physical developent and striving for truth beauty and goodness in the classroom environment. ATHLETES WAREHOUSE is a new strength and conditioning facility in Pleasantville equipped with 6,000 sq. ft of turf space.  All Sports Camp: kids ages 5-11 from 9:30am-2:00pm. Dates: July 6-9, July 13-16, July 20-23, and July 27-30. Activities will include kickball, wiffle ball, soccer, obstacle courses and more! Price: $200 per week.

Audubon’s 290-acre sanctuary is an ideal place for children entering grades K through 9 to develop an appreciation for and understanding of the environment. Join us for seven fun-filled weeks of hands-on, educational hikes, games, activities and crafts! Seven one-week sessions. Ages: Children and teens entering grades K – 9. * Camps for teens entering grades 6-9 are offered.  Camp Themes include: Creepy Crawlies, Twilight Investigations, Backwoods Explorers, Scale & Tails, Aquatic Adventures and Audubon Ecology Adventures (grades 6-9 only). Hours: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. Twilight Investigations is an evening camp and runs from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm. There is no day camp during this week. *On Thursday night, campers entering grades 4 – 9 will have an overnight at the Audubon Center and get picked up on Friday at 9:30 am. Campers in grades K-3 will attend camp from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm for the entire week (Monday-Friday). This summer the Bedford Academy of Music will offer workshops dedicated to theater and music. The Musical Theater Workshop for children in K -8 is a performance-oriented program. Children will work on mastering vocal/acting technique, choreography, dialogue, creating sets for the show. The workshop will conclude with a staged production. The Chamber Music Workshop is for intermediate/advanced instrumentalists who are looking to collaborate with other musicians. Camp Critter begins it’s seventh year and now offers six individual weeks for various ages. Campers learn about animals, animal sheltering, animal cruelty prevention, and training. They do many projects to help shelter animals find their forever homes, including “Adopt Me” flyers, clicker training, and kitten and puppy socializing. They also learn about other kinds of “critters” with visits from Teatown, The Greenburgh Nature Center, and Wolf Conservation. Lots of outdoor time, arts and crafts, and hands-on animal time. Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam Caring Circle Children’s Bereavement Program Day Camp.  Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam’s 8th Annual Caring Circle Camp is scheduled for Sunday, August 19th at Camp Kiwi in Carmel, New York.  Participants from the Caring Circle and their families will come together for an afternoon of arts and crafts, swimming, sports, games, miniature golf and camaraderie.  The camp is offered free of charge to all participants who are responding to the loss of a loved one.  Our Caring Circle children and their families take part in one of our three bi-weekly support groups offered in Yonkers, Yorktown Heights and New Rochelle.  These groups offer children a safe environment to deal with their emotions in a healthy and productive way so they can begin to heal.  For more information, please call Maribel Nazario, Caring Circle Coordinator at (914) 666-4228, ext. 336 or click here.
