On Wednesday, November 28, at 8:00pm, Bedford Chamber Concerts will continue its season highlighting young, international stars with guest clarinetist, Israeli, Moran Katz.   Ms. Katz will join renowned musician Anthony Newman, and the Bedford Chamber Ensemble in an evening of masterpieces by Mozart and Beethoven.  Called “intensely expressive” by The New York Times, “magically persuasive” by Musical America and “a force of nature” by New York Concert Review, Ms. Katz has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Asia as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician.   She has won numerous prizes and awards including First Prize in the 2009 Freiburg International Clarinet Competition, 2010 Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant, and Second Prize at the 2009 Beijing International Music Competition for Clarinet.  Active in the contemporary music scene, Ms. Katz has soloed with the New Juilliard Ensemble.  She has appeared on the MoMA Summergarden Series in solo recital and she often collaborates with the internationally acclaimed new music ensemble “Continuum” and with the jazz ensemble of pianist Uri Caine.  The program will feature Mozart’s, Clarinet Quintet in A, and also includes Beethoven’s Trio in B flat for Clarinet, Piano and Cello and his “Eyeglass” Duet for Viola and Cello in E flat.  The Mozart quintet is one of his most mature chamber compositions and a perennial favorite of audiences.  The Beethoven pieces are relatively early, highly tuneful works that bubble over with youthful exuberance.  BCC concerts take place in the Fellowship Hall of St. Matthew’s Church, 382 Cantitoe Street in Bedford.  Wine is served during intermission and is included in the $35 ticket price.  Student tickets are available for $10 at the door.  To purchase tickets or for more information visit www.bedfordchamberconcerts.org or call 914-522-5150.
